Oriental Land Co., Ltd. was established in 1960 with a view to contributing to the nation’s culture, health and welfare by building on reclaimed land the greatest leisure facility in Asia. This plan came to fruition in the form of Tokyo Disneyland, the opening of which Oriental Land celebrated in 1983, 23 years after the founding of the company. The wishes of the company’s founders were wholly and vividly realized into our corporate culture, and Oriental Land will continue to provide dreams, inspiration, happiness, and peace to the masses through our many business undertakings, including through Tokyo DisneySea, which opened in 2001.
