The OLC Group aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by playing its part as a corporate citizen.
To help to realize vibrant families, communities and society, the Group will actively carry out programs for families that are closely related with our business based on the “OLC Group Basic Policy on Social Contribution,” mainly those aiming to nurture children who will play an important part in building a better future.
Nurturing Children for a Better Future
OLC Group believes in the importance of helping to nurture children who will play a central part in building a better future. Based on this belief, the Company provides various fun learning activities at preschools, kindergartens, and other public events.
At preschools and kindergartens, the Company offers a fun activity called “Imagination Storybook” that helps children nurture their imagination and creativity by telling a story using body movement and the rhythmic beat of drums.
Since 2007, the Company has participated in the UN Day event, providing fun educational programs for children. On UN Day 2008, under the theme of climate change, the Company offered short programs and craft workshops to children. In 2008, the Company also participated in the forum titled “the Bonds between Families and Communities” sponsored by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan, and provided opportunities to help families have fun together. These opportunities included shows themed to family bonds, and craft workshops in which family members worked together to make crafts.
At the same time, as a corporate citizen, the Company will support children who are in difficulty.
Contribution to the Local Communities
The Company continues to work closely with the city of Urayasu in a variety of events for its residents. These events include the opening ceremony for the Tokyo Bay Urayasu City Marathon and free movie screenings during the Urayasu City Festival. The Company has also been hosting the city’s Coming-of-Age Ceremony at Tokyo Disneyland since 2002.
Also, in order to provide a positive learning environment, the Company donated the Youth Activities Exchange Center “Ura la mer.” This facility, which opened in 2005, is widely used by Urayasu City residents for various youth activities including school clubs and sports organizations.
The Company also hosts a work experience program “We Make Happiness” for elementary and junior high school students. Students are given the opportunity to experience a variety of backstage jobs at Tokyo Disney Resort, learning how different jobs all lead to providing “happiness” to the Guests. OLC also prides itself in the spirit of hospitality of its employees. As part of this, the Company has participated in volunteer activities to clean up after the “Urayasu City Summer Fireworks Festival” since 2007.
Other Efforts Related to the Theme Parks
The Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador and the Disney characters visit hospitals and other facilities nationwide to deliver the “Disney Dreams” to those who are unable to visit Tokyo Disney Resort.
In addition, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea hosts the “Music Festival Program,” a program started by Walt Disney himself at Disneyland Park in the United States. Walt Disney wanted to provide an opportunity for amateur groups to perform, and for Guests in turn to enjoy these performances. Participants not only have the unforgettable experience of performing at the Parks, but also learn the importance of hospitality as a “Cast Member.” |
