Summary of TOKYO DISNEY RESORT
TOKYO DISNEYLAND

Themed Lands

WORLD BAZAAR
The first themed land to welcome TOKYO DISNEYLAND guests is World Bazaar, a vision of small town America at the beginning of the 20th century. There are quaint shops, restaurants, and even a bank in World Bazaar. A roving bicycle-piano player provides a delightful musical background.

World Bazaar is protected from the elements by a glass canopy over the entire area.
As guests stroll down Main Street toward the Plaza, the 51-meter (171-foot) Cinderella Castle comes into full view. This symbol of Disney magic is a replica of the castle at the Magic Kingdom in the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort.

At the Plaza, guests can board early 20th century vehicles -- the Omnibus -- for a ride around the Plaza. The Plaza is a convenient place for deciding which of the other themed lands to visit next. From the Plaza, paths leading to the other themed lands branch out like spokes of a wheel making it easy to enter any of the lands.

ADVENTURELAND
Adventureland takes guests from the elegance of New Orleans to the excitement of the tropics. On Pirates of the Caribbean, one of the most popular Disney attractions, guests take an unforgettable voyage through a pirate raid of a Caribbean seaport where they witness jolly, singing pirates and duck to avoid "cannon balls" whizzing directly over their boat. Pirates of the Caribbean is said to be one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced adventures ever conceived as a permanent entertainment attraction.

Past the New Orleans-style area of Adventureland, is the Jungle Cruise. Based on Disney's Academy Award-winning "True-Life Adventure" film series, the Jungle Cruise is a trip down the winding waterways of South America, Africa and Asia, complete with lush vegetation, wild animals, and "lost" civilizations.

Above the Jungle Cruise landing, guests can board the Western River Railroad.
This authentic steam train takes guests on a journey around Adventureland and into the wilderness of America's frontier days. The climax of the journey is a trip further back in time to the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

After all these exciting adventures, guests may find it relaxing to take in the show "Get the Fever!" at The Enchanted Tiki Room. This magical room is a tropical theater-in-the-round where over two hundred life-like birds, flowers and tiki gods perform a spectacular musical.

Based on the 1960 Disney film, Swiss Family Robinson, the Swiss Family Treehouse recreates the treetop home of the shipwrecked Robinson family. This ingenious treehouse, built in a tree 19 meters tall, has running water and all the other conveniences of home that could be made from their ship's salvage or materials from the surrounding jungle.

WESTERNLAND
From towering Big Thunder Mountain to the majestic Rivers of America, the atmosphere of America's western frontier of the 19th century is recreated here. In Westernland, guests can feel like the pioneers of old.

The romantic sternwheeler called the Mark Twain Riverboat takes guests on a voyage down the Rivers of America where they can see friendly Indian villagers and animals native to the wilderness.

On Tom Sawyer Island, reachable only by the Tom Sawyer Island Rafts, guests can relive the adventures of Tom Sawyer as they explore Injun Joe's Cave, clamber across a barrel bridge, or just roam about the island.

Over at Country Bear Theater, a troupe of talented, musical bears put on a "grin-and-bear-it" style of country entertainment. And at Slue Foot Sue's Diamond Horseshoe, real live can-can dancers and other entertainers put on a rollicking show right out of the Old West.

The wildest ride in the wilderness is at Big Thunder Mountain. Here guests board a run-away mine train for a perilous journey through an abandoned Gold Rush Era mine. As the mine cars hurtle in and out of the dark caverns of Big Thunder Mountain, guests are faced with a host of obstacles blocking their safe return.

CRITTER COUNTRY
This fanciful land of "critters" is nestled against the Rivers of America. Guests can observe the many cozy and quaint-looking homes of the critters tucked up on the hillsides and overlooking the river.

Dominating the landscape is Splash Mountain, an attraction inspired by the Walt Disney motion picture Song of the South. On Splash Mountain guests board log boats to follow the adventures of happy-go-lucky Brer Rabbit as he tries to stay out of the clutches of Brer Fox and Brer Bear. The climax is a five-story drop at a 45-degree angle right into a water-filled "briar patch."

Near Splash Mountain is the Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes attraction. Guests can try their hand at paddling a 14-passenger canoe around the Rivers of America.

FANTASYLAND
Passing through the portals of Cinderella Castle, guests enter a land of enchantment where they can take part in the adventures of fairy tale characters from the classic animated films of Walt Disney. In Fantasyland, guests can ride through Snow White's Adventures in a mining car belonging to the Seven Dwarfs, fly to Never Land in Peter Pan's Flight, or travel with Pinocchio on his long journey to becoming a real boy in Pinocchio's Daring Journey. Also, guests can fly with Dumbo on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, whirl to Wonderland at Alice's Tea Party, and ride a gallant steed on Castle Carrousel.

In The Mickey Mouse Revue, guests can enjoy a concert of favorite Disney melodies performed by the Disney characters and conducted by none other than Mickey himself!

A popular attraction is It's A Small World, a happy salute to children everywhere.
Guests board boats for a fanciful cruise through the nations of the world as hundreds of "children" sing of goodwill and understanding.

The Haunted Mansion is complete with hot and cold running chills and inhabited by 999 ghosts and ghouls just dying for someone to join them and make their number an even 1000.

Featuring scenes from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Pooh's Hunny Hunt is the Park's newest and most innovative attraction. Riding in giant hunny pot vehicles, guests are swept into the Hundred Acre Wood to share an adventure with Pooh and friends as the silly ol' bear searches for his favorite food.

TOONTOWN
Toontown is a cartoon town come to three-dimensional life where Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters live, work, and play.
Bursting with color and cartoon verve, Toontown is composed of three areas: Mickey Avenue, a suburban neighborhood with the homes of Toontown's most famous residents; Toon Square, a loony "civic" center; and Downtown Toontown, a zany commercial district of gags and jokes.

At Mickey's House, visitors are welcome to look around and then actually visit Mickey in his Movie Barn and take a souvenir snapshot with him. Guests can also explore Minnie's House, jump for joy in Goofy's Bounce House, act like a ship's captain on Donald's Boat, clamber in and out of Chip 'n Dale's Treehouse, and careen around Toon Lake on Gadget's Go Coaster.

Downtown Toontown offers a nonstop barrage of laughs, tricks, and one-liners.
There are mailboxes that talk back, mysterious voices calling out when a manhole, or rather "Toonhole," cover is stepped on, and doorbells that produce surprising responses when pressed. Guests can even take the wheel of a cartoon cab and literally spin through Toontown's back alleys on the exciting attraction, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin.

TOMORROWLAND
This futuristic land provides a glimpse into the world of tomorrow and the many possibilities that progress will have on our lives on earth and in space.

At MicroAdventure!, guests can witness the Imagination Institute's annual "Inventor of the Year Award Ceremony." Since this year's winner is none other than Professor Wayne Szalinski, whose exploits were chronicled in the Disney film, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, guests can expect the unexpected to happen.

Space Mountain, one of the best-known Disney attractions, is a simulated race through space past asteroid showers and swirling galaxies. Guests are in control on StarJets as they guide their jets to higher or lower altitudes in the sky above Tomorrowland.

The "out-of-this-world" attraction Star Tours is the ultimate thrill adventure from the creative forces of Disney and George Lucas. Through a stunning film synchronized with the virtually limitless motion of a flight simulator, guests blast off on a Starspeeder 3000 spacecraft for an adventure based on the Star Wars film trilogy.

In Meet the World, guests can travel back in time to witness important encounters between Japan and the world. This unique theater attraction was created specifically for TOKYO DISNEYLAND.

TOKYO DISNEYLAND will never be completed because new attractions and shows are constantly being added to this unique place where everyone can enjoy dreams, adventures and fantasy as only Disney can "imagineer" them.
